Cowan Place, watercolor
This is the home of some very good friends of ours. The painting makes the house look like it is possibly abandoned. As a matter of fact a reviewer once wrote about this painting describing the house as "lying on its dying embers". The owners bought the painting and take great delight in quoting the review to people who see the work.
Early Light, watercolor
Another view of the house after a light snowfall. The large tree to the right is now gone and the hillside in the background is simplified and changed for compositional reasons. This piece was almost once titled Blue Curtain for the color of the curtain in the upstairs window.
"10-10-10", watercolor and drybrush
Fertilizer bags stored in the barn.
Kayce's Mare, watercolor
The silhouette of a horse in the barn. The view in the painting "10-10-10" would be looking at the end of the barn from the right side.
